Frequently asked questions
Everything a licensed dealer, pawnbroker, or manufacturer usually wants to know before joining. Don’t see your question? Contact us.
Joining
Who can join FFLPowered?
Licensed firearms dealers (Type 01), pawnbrokers (Type 02), and manufacturers (Type 07). Membership is by application and limited to verified FFLs — there are no public accounts.
How does verification work?
Your FFL number is checked against the ATF “Listing of Federal Firearms Licensees,” and a member of our team reviews your uploaded, signed license before your account is activated. Both steps are required — nothing is approved automatically.
How long does approval take?
We review every application and notify you as soon as your account is activated — usually within one business day. A recently-issued license that isn’t in the current ATF snapshot simply routes to manual review; it is never wrongly rejected.
Is my license kept private?
Yes. FFL documents are stored privately and shown only to our reviewers or a member you explicitly choose to share with — never as a public link. You can revoke access at any time.
Buying & selling
Does FFLPowered sell firearms or process sales?
No. FFLPowered is an advertising platform. You advertise inventory and connect with other dealers here; every firearm transfer is completed FFL-to-FFL, off-platform, in accordance with federal and state law — exactly the way you already do business.
Are there transaction fees, commissions, or bidding?
No per-sale commissions and no auctions or bidding. You pay for your membership, and optionally for boosts or manufacturer ad placement. What you sell an item for is between you and the other dealer.
How does a deal actually happen?
A member messages you on-platform about a listing, you agree on terms, and you complete the transfer FFL-to-FFL. Afterward, both sides can leave a review.
Can pawnbrokers use the marketplace?
Yes. Type 02 pawnbrokers are full members and use the same marketplace, tools, and verification as dealers.
For manufacturers
What do manufacturers get?
A branded storefront, unlimited product listings to the entire dealer network with no lot fees, included Model & Category boosts, optional banner advertising, and secure dealer-onboarding tools — factory-direct, with no distributor markup.
How do dealers order from a manufacturer?
Dealers discover your storefront and product line, reach out on-platform, and order factory-direct. Transfers happen FFL-to-FFL, off-platform.
Tools & membership
What is MarketScope?
An AI price check: it web-searches what a firearm, accessory, knife, or piece of body armor is actually asking online right now, then works back to your buy offer with deal guidance. The MarketScope Index also shows what guns really trade for, dealer to dealer.
What does membership cost?
Dealer plans run from $299/yr (Iron Sights) up to $7,000/yr (Precision) depending on listing volume and included AI. The Manufacturer plan is $2,500/yr. Buying and browsing are unlimited on every plan — tiers unlock the selling side.
What are boosts?
Optional paid placement that floats a listing to the top — Top of Model & Caliber, Top of Category, or the homepage Landing-Page Feature.
Trust & safety
Is the ATF list you check against current?
We refresh it on ATF’s monthly publishing cadence. See our Trust & Safety page for how verification and document review work.
How do reputation and reviews work?
After a completed deal, both the buyer and seller can leave a review. Ratings reflect real dealings on both sides, so a member’s track record is earned rather than claimed.
